Easel Box For Battery Tealight

Hello,

I made a few battery tea light boxes.  I wanted to see how this purple and white look.  The color didn't turn out as nice as I thought.

I wanted to see how a little bit of green will do. I thought it didn't make much of a different either.
Have a marvelous Monday!

Green Knitted Scarf

Hello,

Winter has finally caught up with us. It is very cold. We haven't had this kind of cold winter for several years.  I don't have proper winter accessories.  I wanted a nice looking scarf so I found one at Ravelry.
The original color is blue and it is absolutely beautiful.  You can see it here.  I don't know where to get the same type of yarn so I got this bulky yarn at Joann Fabric.

The pattern is very easy to follow and because of the bulky yarn the scarf was very fast to knit.  However, this is the reason I don't like knit scarf. Its end roll down.  The top picture showed part of the scarf on the right side folded down.

Here is how the scarf suppose to look it.

I took the scarf apart and redo it.  This time I added 4 extra stitches on the right side hopping this will flatten out the scarf but that didn't help. This is the wrong side of the scarf showing the right side folded in. I took the last 2 pictures on cloudy day so the color of the scarf seemed to change.

I was hopping the scarf  will turn out like this.

I am going to try this in cotton yarn to see if it make any different.

Until then .....

Have a wonderful weekend!

Cream Crochet Purse

Hello,

I made this purse since last Spring but I never line it until last week.  I used Aunt Lydias size #3 crochet thread.  The thread has a little sheen which make the purse really pretty.  For the handle I single crochet a long piece about 6 rows and then I sew the piece to make a tube and ran it through the holes.

Here is the liner. I doubled the liner because the purse has so many holes and when I looked at the purse from the outside I could see the wrong size of the brown liner so I decided to try the reversible purse.   I did it correctly the first time which was incredible for me since I  don't sew.

I don't like the fabric color that I used for the liner.  It is too dark which didn't blend well with the cream purse.  So this mean I have to make another one. :)

Crochet Baby Boy Shoes

Hello,

I made this shoes for my 7 months old nephew who live 1000+ mile away.  I forgot to measure his feet when I visited him last month.  The shoes measured about 31/2" long.

Booties tutorial  here.  However, I changed so much that it looks nothing like the tutorial.  I sent to the little guy last week.  My brother called; the shoes didn't fit the baby.  This little guy has a really big feet.  His feet is 4 1/2".  So I have to make a new pair for him may be I'll make sandal instead.

As always thanks for stopping by.

Red Crochet Fat Bottom Bag

Hello,

I saw this fat bottom bag on Pinterest a while ago.  I don't carry large purse. However, the original bag was a little small even for me.  So I made mine a little bigger.

I used one skein of the Red Heart Super Saver.  I started the bag almost double the original pattern.  I started with 30 hdc, 10 stitches for the center and 10 stitches on each size where the increases were being made.

I don't like the handles because they are stretching already and I just used a few times.  I have an idea of how to fix the handles.  I will share that next time.

You can see the original bag here.
Lining tutorial here.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Gray Poncho Sweater

Hello Blogger Friends!

After finished my daughter blue poncho, I wanted one  for myself.  This one was inspired from a poncho that I saw on etsy.  However, I added sleeves to my poncho.  I like the sleeves because when I lifted or moved my arm the body stayed in place.  The white and pink granny squares gave it a feminine touch.

I worn it over the weekend to my surprised the poncho was pretty warm even with all those holes.  My friend, Joan, reaction was "don't tell me you made that!"    I used Caron Simply Soft yarn.  It felt really nice  but the yarns don't t holding up good.  I'm hoping to make another one or two with different kind of yarn may be using cotton yarn.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Brown Cable Knit Scarf

Hello,

I love the look of the cable knitting.  I never heard or saw a cable needle until I saw it on Youtube.  I don't like to spend money on something that I can find around the house.  So instead of using a cable needle, I found an old  pen about the size of my knitting needle (#10) to use as a cable needle.

I knit this cable scarf hoping my husband would use it.   He does not wear scarf or gloves no matter how cold.  So I will have to wait and see if he will use it.

If you look closely at the two cables, they are a bit different.  To create the cable on the left, I moved the cable needle (pen)  in front of the work.  To create the cable on the right, I moves the cable needle to the back of the work.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Hello

Hello Blogger Friends!

I have lots of pictures to share.  On Christmas my sister and her husband took us to Legoland.  At first, I wasn't really interested.    It was too expensive and too  crowded.  But that day at Legoland it was nice.  It was expensive alright but it wasn't too crowded and the weather was perfect.  The children got to do all there were to do.

Everything that you see was made from Lego and they are all life size.

Everyone wanted a picture of the Christmas tree.  I think the tree was at least 30 feet tall all made from Lego.

The following pictures were from the area called the Mini land.  Lego used to make famous landmarks. I spent a good amount of time in this area.

The  capitol building.

This next guy is so big. He is more than 10 feet tall.

My favorite piece is the life size Fort Explore.

I wish they had a description of how many Lego pieces were used to make each item and how long it took to make each piece.

I hope you've enjoyed looking at these pictures.
