Origami Week - Day 1

Hello,

Today I'd like to share this origami bowl that I've made a while ago. I used regular printer papers and cut them into small pieces to make this bowl.

This bowl used approximately 200 pieces.

Here it is holding an origami ball.

Check back soon for a tutorial on how to make the individual pieces for the bowl.

Thank you for visiting. Have a great Monday!

Orchid

Hello,
No craft today. However, I wanted to share this orchid that my sister bought for me three years ago when we moved to this house. It was the best house warming gift. It bloom every year around the same time between March and April. And every time it bloom it lasted 3 to 4 months. This year it is very unusual. It has been blooming for 5 months even the color is fading (since the end of March) and it's still blooming.
So if you're thinking of buying a house plant, I would recommend buying an orchid. Your money will be well spend.

I planted it in a clay pot and I used Spanish moss. And I placed it in a place that has indirect sun light. I never used any orchid food. I just spray water on the leaves every once in a while and took out any dead leaves.

That's it for today. Have a wonderful weekend.

High Heel sandals

Good Morning,

Aren't these sandals darling cute? The other night it was late, I was tired but I didn't want to go to bed. I needed to make something. I started one thing and stop. Then I started something else and again I didn't feel like making it. I sat there and looked around and saw my daughter's flip flop. That was it! I needed to make another pair of shoe. But flip flop is no fun. So I added heels. Now that's much better.

The flowers were punches and sponged the edges. Then I crumbled the flowers to make a soft look. After that dimensionals were used and gluded on to the shoe straps.

This red one is only one. I didn't realize I did not have any more red paper when I cut it. It was too cute to throw it away, so here she is. For this one I used the fleurette that I made. If you like the fleurettes, I have them for sale. Scroll down for fleurettes for sale.

If you wanted the shoe template, it can be found here http://www.carlosnmolina.com/

I was not detailed on how I made the flowers on the blue shoes. If you have question, leave me a comment.

Again, thank you for stopping by my blog.

Waterfall Album

Hello,
Another mini album. I really like this mini album. After I've finished assembled the album I just sat there and kept on pulling and pushing the tab to see the pages flipping. It was the coolest album I've ever made yet!

Here are some pictures.

Notice the tab on the right.

Inner pages.

Last page.

The finished album is 6 x 6. The inner pages have different sizes. It's very similar to the waterfall card.
Thank you again for visiting.

Mini Backpack Album

Good Morning,

Isn't this backpack darling cute? I was trying to make a backpack that I saw on SCS tutorial but it didn't turn out right because I didn't follow the instruction.

Then I saw this backpack here http://acreativeneed.wordpress.com/ and I like the idea of backpack album than a goodies backpack. So here he is. I was trying to finish this backpack album for my son's friends who had birthday over the weekend but I never got it done.

Since I never got it done on time, I decided to make it simple.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a marvelous Monday.

Another TopNote Purse

Hello,

I can't believe it's Friday already. Today I like to share another TopNote purse gift card holder. I bought this Manhattan Embossing folder a while ago and got to play around with it only once and had forgotten about.

I came across this blog "Creations by Patti". Then I realized I had that embossing folder. So I decided to make another gift card holder. I made the box between the TopNote to fit the gift card. My box measured 3 1/2 x 2 1/2. It barely fit after I punched the handle using the word window punch. I tried to use the small oval punch but couldn't get it the way I like it because of the way the oval is lining on the punch.

The technique that I used here is very simple. I've seen a few cards using this technique but didn't quite understand how it was done. Now I know.:) I inked my brayer with Tangerine Tango (your choice of classic ink) and brayed on the debossed size of the Manhattan embossing folder. Then place the whisper white card stock in the folder and run it through the Big Shot. That was it. Easy Peasy!

I added the butterfly from "Priceless" set and the sentiment is from "One of a Kind" set. I cut the circle Velcro in half and place it right at the top. It's barely fit.
Thanks for checking in. Have a great weekend.

Teddy Bear punches bookmark

Good Morning,

Today I like to share this teddy bear bookmark that I finally got to finish it. I had this bookmark prepared a while ago but I misplaced the 1/4 punch and didn't want to buy another one so I just left all the pieces there on my counter.

The other day I went to Walmart and decided to get another 1/4" punch since the old one didn't work properly. So here he is finally finished. Cute isn't he? and it's so easy to make. I didn't have the 3/4" punch so I trace a dime and cut them out. It was just the right size. :)

Thanks for reading my blog.

A Purse

Good Morning,

I love purses and bags but I don't use them as much and I don't own them that many either. I enjoy making purses, boxes, and bags. I would spend hour surfing the web looking for cute purses or boxes to make. I found this purse template at http://www.carlosnmolina.com/

For this purse I decided to use DCWV the Luxury stack. The paper has a really nice design on it and I thought it would make a really nice purse. It does but again the picture didn't come up that good. It took me a while to think of what to do with the front flap. Then I remember the tassels that I bought from Hong Kong many many years ago when I visited there. That was my souveniar. Finally, I got to use them. The brad was from the Headhodge hardware. I got them when they were on sell last month. :)

Some how I thought the high heel shoes and the purse go together. What do you think?

Thank you for stopping my blog. Happy creating.

High Heel Shoes

Hello,

I am so excited to share today's post. Today post feature high heel shoe ornaments. Yeah, you read it right. They are ornaments and they are so sticky cute!!!! If you would like to make these high heel shoe ornament go here http://www.carlosnmolina.com/ and click on the videos and tutorials.

These shoes are so cute that my two year old daughter wanted to wear them. She gave me her foot when she saw the shoes. And her older brothers asked if I can make one that would fit her.

I know I shouldn't share these shoes until I make a better one. But they are so irresistible. Do you see the gap on the size? I don't know if my double sized tape was not working right or because I used glossy papers. Any idea?

If you happen to stop by, don't leave without leave me a comment.

Hope you enjoy today's post. Until next time.

Post It Notes Holder

Hello,

Today I like to share this post it notes holder. I use this from time to time. I used the Washington Apple DSP (retired) to cover the cardboard so that it would last longer. The "notes" on the front cover was from the Go Go Boots Alphabet set. I did not like the lower case "t" so for this "notes" I used the lower case "f" and flipped it upside down to make the "t". I like it better.

Thanks for reading. Please check back soon.

More TopNote gift boxes

Good Morning,

Thank you for visiting my blog. I hope you had a good weekend. My weekend wasn't too bad. I made these Top Note gift boxes over the weekend. Aren't they darling cute?

The Christmas trees were made using circle scallop punch. cut the scallop circle into four pieces like this: five scallops, four scallop, three scallops, and two scallop. I then sponged the edge with white craft ink (that was the only white ink I have). The sentiments were from past Sale-A-bration called "Many Saying". The snow flake and the gifts were boxes were from "It's snow time" set. Again, it was retired.

Can you see the glitters? I applied glitters at the end of the ripped edge. The pictures did not really show the glitters but any crafter would understand.

I hope you enjoy today's post.

Please check back soon.

Shutter card

Good Morning!

Second post, I almost forgot to make a card to go with the Magic Box. In my culture we did not send card of any kind. And even though I have been living in the United States most of my life, and even making handmade card, I still forgot to send out card sometime.

It took me a while before I decided to make this shutter card. I wanted a card that would go with the Magic Box. And I thought this shutter card would be perfect. The stamp set I used is from "All Holiday" set for the card front, and "So Many Saying" for the inside "many thanks". I also used "Priceless" set. It's my favorite set. I added a few of my handmade blue fleurettes with round rhinestone in the middle. The designer paper is called "Good Morning Sunshine" from Stampin' Up! Again, it's retired.

I hope she likes the card. It's a big card. Finished card measured 4 x 6 1/2 and it was thick. I had to make a box for it because the envelop that I made for it won't look right.

My first Magic Box

Good Friday morning!

Now I can share this Magic Box. I am so excited to share my very first Magic Box. I made this box for a very good friend, Tracy. I am very fortunate to have Tracy as a friend. Our children attended the same class. That was how I met her. And we have became friend.

This week Tracy hold a 5 days club in her nice big back yard from and she extended the invitation for the children to stay and play in her pool after the club ended each day. She organized games and activities for the children (about 20 of them.) She hired her niece and nephew to help out. She bought a bunch of crafts for the children. How nice of her to do that for us?

Since Tracy is such a kind person, I decided to make this "So Kind" Magic Box for her. I hope she likes it.

I got the tutorial from here
http://creationsbypatti.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html

For the center flower pot or is it a flower pot? I used the middle 3 tiers cake that I made it myself. No, I did not buy the Sizzix 3 tiers cake from SU. I made my own 3 tiers cake template.

Enjoy the rest of the pictures.

Let me know what did you think!

Thanks for visiting. Please check back soon.

A red birdhouse

Good morning!

Thank you for visiting my blog today. I normally don't care much about birdhouse. But I really like this birdhouse. Isn't it so cute? I got the template from here http://whimcees.blogspot.com/ It looks hard but it was not hard at all. Just print the template right on to you desire paper. Then cut and glue the pieces together and you are done.

The paper I used is Stampin' Up! Riding Hood Red pattern paper. It was retired. They always do that.

Here are some birdhouse pictures. Enjoy!!!

Please check back soon.

A little purse

Hello,

Isn't this purse so darn cute? I saw this purse at Dawn stamping thought. I used her measurement 6 x 6 DSP score in half and then cut out the Top Note and score it at 1 5/8 and 2 1/8. Punch two holes between the scored lines and put the ribbon through the hole.

For the inside cut the small cellophane bag to fit the gift card and glue it inside the purse. Attach Velcros on the inside of the Top Note flab for open and shut.

My inside is different from her. I did not use the cellophane bag. I did not have any cellophane. So I made the slot with word window punch. It work just fine.

Thanks for stopping be today.

Top Note box

Hello,

A friend of a friend asked me to make a few boxes for her. I saw this box on YouTube. Don't you just love YouTube! The paper that I used here were all retired. I don't think she'll mind. She just wanted something pretty. Isn't this box cute!

The white star on top of the box is made from polyproplylene ribbon. I used a needle to thread the ribbon before I tugged the top of the star in.

I really like the box and I hope she'd like it.
